"This picture book is a gem -- an exciting story that teaches at many levels.
On the first literal level, this book teaches reading -- using the five senses of the child. It will become a game for pre-schoolers and also for Junior and Senior Kindergarten to find words that they have learned. This game is made easier with words in the same logical colours and sizes. The use of different colours for different words and meanings would help children to spot and locate the words again and again and so learn. This skilful use of text will certainly encourage and assist the child in learning to read at the pre-school, and Junior and Senior Kindergarten levels. It might be used by Grade Ones and possibly by Grade Two classes as well.
